Congratulations to all involved in the formation of Meadowcreek. This is a vision
of incredible selflessness and a much needed hope for the future of this very beautiful
area in the Ozarks.May its example be
a catalyst for others to follow.

What a beautiful home page. I’d like to see the little beautiful, revolving photos on a gallery page. I have photos and video I could contribute, including musical performances. A great job relating the history; I learned a lot, even though my own history is woven into Meadowcreek’s. Way to go!

Thanks for being intrested in the Meadowcreek world , It’s great to know that folks like you are there. This has been a intensly full year for everyone ,But the cause of fighting the burmuda grass in the garden must go on!! Thank goodness Tom and I were fortunate enough to get a tractor. Our cars are 20 years old but our tractor is brand new . It’s been helping us get farther along on dealing with an out of control Garden as well as helping out the county with the so called low water bidge.
As for our own home building , Things are starting to get back on track. Now that we are off the road for the rest of the year . We dream of moving this winter , but It may only put us half way there, keeping multiple homefires burning .It’s a bit daunting, knowing what a big move it’ll be .But we do have water and a phone at the new place ,just no insulation, siding , drywall cabinets, plumbing , ect, ect.I think I can blame the slow achievements on the weather, yeah the creek was high alot !!One just has to breath the fragrent fresh air and hear the owls and frogs in the autumn evening to forget all ones troubles.

Came across your site and thought, what possibilities. Seems this has not been updated much and it leaves me wondering what you have there to offer. Where are the classes, festivals, demonstrations, workshops, seminars, weekend packages, trail rides, camps, etc. Where does the funding now come from and how do you make money? In the right hands, this could be great. It’s a shame there is no draw to the public. Give me a reason and I’d love to bring the family.

Thank you for your interest in Meadowcreek. We have a long and complex history that can be viewed by clicking the “History” button on this website and tracing it from the late 1970’s to the present. Our funding comes from leasing MC’s land and facilities to individuals and families who live in the Valley. At the present time, Meadowcreek, itself, is not offering “programs” to the general public. We do, however, support our residents in doing so. Several of them will be part of Mountain View’s Off the Beaten Path Studio Tour that will bring visitors to Meadowcreek in September of this year and will be offering a variety of classes at Meadowcreek in early 2010 as well. Our current focus is the creation of a Forest Stewardship Plan that will not only improve Meadowcreek’s forests, but will help establish Meadowcreek as a model for sustainable forestry. Until we begin to sponsor our own educational opportunities onsite once again, we welcome visitors to come and enjoy the general grandeur of Meadowcreek’s landscape.

Hi, Bev. Happy New Year. I’ve looked at the website. It’s great. Have you talked to the Boy Scouts about using/working on the buildings or the trails? You know, Jimmy Edwards, the sales manager at the Folk Center, knows a lot of people in the Boy Scouts. Have you started a Face Book page for it? I would be happy to do that. Meadow Creek is a hidden treasure. Someday that place will be well known. It is such a beautiful place, with vast possibilities.

Jeff, so sorry to have taken so long to respond to your comment. I believe we’re now in a position to look more closely at projects such as you have mentioned with the Boy Scouts. Also, I know you know by now that new resident, Missy Brown, has created a FB page called the Meadowcreek Initiative…which already has 90 fans. I think we’re beginning a new phase in which we’ll be able to involve and interest many more people in visiting and enjoying the Valley. Please keep those ideas coming!
